Every Friday, 7:15 AM, 1930 Beach St., Broadview, IL Join the Chicago New Sanctuary Coalition, Sisters of Mercy, Brothers and Sisters of Immigrants, and other members of the religious community in a prayer vigil at Broadview Immigration Detention and Processing Center to support those who are in Immigration Detention, their families and be a public witness to the injustices of our broken immigration system. Amnesty International Group 50 is working with the Bahai Spiritual Assemblies of Wilmette, Evanston and Chicago to sponsor a forum on human rights in Iran, specifically the incarceration of the seven leaders of the Bahai community in Iran -- sentenced to 10 years in prison. Interfaith Vigil on Immigration
On Thursday, December 16th at 6pm, the Interfaith Immigration Network of Metropolitan Chicago will sponsor an interfaith vigil at the First United Methodist Church Chicago Temple in downtown Chicago (77 West Washington Street) in honor of International Migrants Day.The one-hour program will include brief faith reflections on immigration from leaders in numerous diverse faith communities throughout Chicago, stories from leaders in Chicago's immigrant community, prayers and silence for affected immigrant individuals and families, and a group sharing of New Year's Resolutions around immigration in cooperation with the National Interfaith Immigration Coalition. 3rd Annual Posada/Pilgrimage from Broadview Detention Center
Friday, December 17th 7:00am to 9:00am at the Broadview Detention Center, 1930 Beach Street, Broadview, IL. Join the office for Immigrant Affairs and Immigration Education of the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, the Priests for Justice for Immigrants, and the Sisters and Brothers of Immigrants for Las Posadas, a Mexican tradition that invites people to discover the blessings that flow from the faith experience of walking with Joseph and Mary to be in solidarity with migrants, refugees and strangers in our midst.
